The consortium comprises eight participants from five member states; four of the participants are SMEs, ranging from a company specialising in plastic pipe engineering and inspection (NIKK, The Netherlands) to high technology equipment organisations (TAB, Spain and InnoTecUK, UK). The other SME (Chem Resist, UK) is an industrial thermoplastic storage tank manufacturer/installer. In addition there is strong participation from research organisations: TWI, UK, a material joining laboratory and NDE research organisation; Hessel, Germany, a plastic materials testing laboratory; and HSL, UK, a governmental organisation specialising in minimising risk to people's health and safety at work. There is also an industrial operator of thermoplastic chemical storage tanks - Univar (UK). All project participants are leaders in their respective industry sectors.
